What changes if you switch?

Pick what runs your studio today. See what changes in your week, what you'll only find in DesignOps, and how your work stays yours.

What does your studio use today?

You use Ivy. Houzz has stopped new Ivy memberships and feature updates. Here is what changes.

01 · Your week

What changes at each step.

Here's where the work changes when you move from Ivy. Most of it happens before a project starts.

New inquiryDay 1
Today in Ivy

Clients and projects are added by hand. Houzz lists its CRM for managing leads among the features that aren't available in Ivy, and we found no fit score or property data.

With DesignOps
Researched before you call back.

Each inquiry arrives with a property report and a fit score out of 100, so you call the right client first.

Inquiry emailsAny day
Today in Ivy

We found no Gmail or Outlook extension, and no way to turn an inquiry email into a lead.

With DesignOps
Inquiry emails become leads.

The Lead Extractor works in Gmail and Outlook. Smart AI Fill picks out the details from the email you open, and nothing is saved until you say so.

Discovery callDay 2
Today in Ivy

We found no call recording or brief drafting. Houzz lists AI note-taking among the features that aren't available in Ivy.

With DesignOps
Any call becomes the brief.

Sync calls from Plaud, or paste in the transcript of any call. The brief is written for you, with the client's concerns highlighted.

Scope and proposalWeek 1
Today in Ivy

Proposals are built by hand from your product library and room boards. We found no AI drafting and no scope of work.

With DesignOps
Scope and proposal, drafted.

Both are drafted from the brief, in your voice and with your branding. You review and edit before anything goes to the client.

Project tasksThroughout
Today in Ivy

Houzz lists assigning tasks to others among the features that aren't available in Ivy.

With DesignOps
Every task, assigned and timed.

See the project as a list or a kanban board. Assign each task to your team or a contractor, move it through its statuses, and track the time spent on it.

Client updatesEvery week
Today in Ivy

We found no client update feature. Clients see what you publish to their dashboard.

With DesignOps
The weekly update, drafted.

Drafted from the week's progress and approvals, ready on the day you choose. You add your touch and send it.

Also in DesignOps

Client approvals in their own dashboard, purchase orders managed from order to install, and the Product Clipper for any vendor's site.

02 · Only in DesignOps

What you'll only find in DesignOps.

We found none of these in Ivy, or in any of the 8 other studio tools we checked.

01

A fit score on every new inquiry

Each inquiry gets a fit score out of 100, with the reasons, so you call the right client first.

02

The home's public records and nearby sales

Property details and recent sales nearby, from the address, on every lead.

03

A written promise never to contact your leads

The people you enter stay your relationships.

Also in DesignOps, not in Ivy

  • Inquiries captured from the email you open, without reading the rest of your inbox
  • Your discovery call turned into a project brief
  • Client concerns from the call highlighted for you
  • Scope of work drafted from your project brief
  • A mood board pulled together from a style brief, using products you have saved
  • Your studio's tone and writing rules in every draft

Not in Ivy's published features or documents, checked 9 Oct 2026. Products change, so check their current pages too.

03 · AI with oversight

AI drafts. You decide.

DesignOps writes the first version and you approve it. Nothing is sent, ordered or shared until you say so.

In Ivy

We found no AI features in Ivy. Houzz lists AI note-taking, its AI clipper and AI voice-to-text among the features that aren't available in Ivy, and says Ivy no longer gets feature updates.
